A helping hand that helped Issaku's mother give him the medical attention he needed
Issaku is the only son of Raju and Aruna. Raju works as a daily wage laborer, and Aruna is a homemaker. Issaku's father soon abandoned them. With no place to go, Issaku and his mother began living with their grandmother.
Issaku began to fall ill regularly. Priyadarshini Seva Mandali's outreach workers identified Issaku during one of his hospital visits. He had fever and skin infection.
Priyadarshini Seva Mandali enrolled him in the medical assistance program. They took him to the doctor for a complete assessment. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed as HIV positive.
The doctor prescribed him medication, but his mother could not afford the treatment. Priyadarshini Seva Mandali assisted Issaku's mother with help for doctor's fee and medicines. They also helped her with travel expenses for Issaku and herself to visit the hospital regularly.
Issaku also receives a monthly ration bundle from Priyadarshini Seva Mandali to get the required nutrition. The nutrition helps him build strength to withstand the intense HIV treatment.
With regular medicines and nutritious food, his health condition has improved a lot.
Now Issaku is healthy enough to carry on his regular activities like a child. His mother is pleased to see him function as a normal child.

What the beneficiary gets
Program Description
Priyadarshini Seva Mandali runs a program to provide underprivileged orphaned HIV positive children with the required medication as prescribed by the government hospitals and helps them through recovery.
Donations to this program will contribute to a fund that will cover the cost of doctor fee, medicines, and travel expenses for the child and the guardian to the hospital.
Most of the children supported by this program are orphaned and are cared for by their grandparents or other guardians.
Priyadarshini Seva Mandali's outreach workers identify the children who need support from the government hospitals where they come for their CD4 test every month. Alternatively, they are also referred to by other nonprofits.
The outreach workers check the hospital records and prepare a list of extremely poor children. They then reach out to the guardians and invite them to Priyadarshini Seva Mandali's office. The children are then enrolled in the program. As a part of the program, PSM provides them with nutritious food. Priyadarshini Seva Mandali also refunds the travel expenses to and from the organization.
A ration bundle adequate to cover all nutritional requirements is also handed over to the child's guardian.
The children continue to receive help every month. Additionally, new children get enrolled in the program as and when they pay their first visit to the hospital.
When you donate to this program, you help children affected with HIV get access to medical help that they need to help them through their recovery.

Santhosh Found His Joyous Life Back
#6
Activities and work undertaken in the last 5-6 months
We have been on this mission for years together. Yet we never feel tired. We have been involved in the noble work of providing medical support to poor orphaned HIV/AIDS children. Serving these poor orphan kids gives us immense joy and fulfillment. Thanks for standing by us in our noble mission of providing medical support to these poor orphan kids suffering from HIV/AIDS.
Thanks for your support so far. We were able to continue in our services with much determination. We provide regular medical check-ups, diagnostic tests, antibiotics, and multi-vitamin tablets – all under the umbrella of complete medical care so that the poor kids can live a dignified, quality life, forgetting their illnesses. We also make them practice yoga, meditation, and other regular exercises to ensure their fitness. This has been our mission and motto. And we have been successful in our endeavors. Thanks for your unforgettable support.
We have accomplished several feathers in our cap. Still, we are not satisfied. We are extending our noble services across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to more poor orphan kids suffering from HIV/AIDS. There are almost 30 kids under our healthcare who are living a joyous life with good health despite their HIV/AIDS.
Challenges faced and next steps
It is indeed a challenging task. It requires passion and guts to take up such noble tasks. We faced several hurdles in accomplishing our mission goals and aims. Yet we could move forward in our mission of serving and providing for these poor orphaned children suffering from HIV/AIDS. Under the wings of our love and care, these orphaned children were able to regain their health fast and live a decent, dignified life, forgetting that they were afflicted with HIV/AIDS. We were also able to keep our children from COVID and other viral attacks. Children under our care were also able to surmount the pandemic-related challenges with proper care and diet. Undeterred by the challenges, we are moving forward in the continuance of our mission for several years to come.
Stories from the ground
Santhosh was once a happy-go-lucky guy. And once he discovered that he was suffering from HIV/AIDS, his life was shattered. Since then, he fell into depression and became very weak physically. He lost his parents. They died of HIV/AIDS. He has a sister, who is now taking care of him. Santhosh is on ART medicines as prescribed by his doctor. Since these ART medicines are very costly, Santhosh has come under our love and medicare. Besides providing ART medicines, we are also providing him with regular diagnostic tests, check-ups, and other supplemental medicines. Under our loving care, Santhosh is today leading a decent, dignified life like any normal kid of his age. He has almost forgotten that he was suffering from HIV/AIDS and is earning his own living.

Serving HIV/AIDS children and providing them with a good quality of life is indeed a challenge. Yet we could overcome them with much ease. By taking good care of the health of the HIV/AIDS-affected children we ensured them that they stay fit and healthy. We would like to continue our program for the next 6 months and beyond just in the same vein.
Stories from the ground
Impact story: R. Naveen, aged 17, is the eldest in his family. He had one younger brother and a younger sister. Their parents died of HIV/AIDS. All three kids too contracted HIV/AIDS. For the last thirteen years, these kids were under our care. We have been providing regular medicines and diagnostic tests. These kids, to say, literally grew up under our care. We kept them healthy and happy despite their suffering from HIV/AIDS all these years.

Swarupa Bounced Back Into Life under Our Care and Love
#4
Priyadarshini Seva Mandali has for long been providing medical help for HIV Positive Children. We have also extended the same medical support to 30 HIV children who are suffering from HIV positive during this quarter. Some more children suffering from HIV positive are also included in this medical benefit program. For next quarter too we are planning to include more children suffering from HIV. The ultimate goal of Priyadarshini Seva Mandali is to provide good health, dignified life, quality standards of life and to live happily with a positive attitude towards life.
Swarupa Bounced Back Into Life under Our Care and Love
Swarupa, a 9 year old, is a cute little girl. Her parents died a few years ago. She was being taken care of by her elder cousin sister, who recently got married. Her husband is a labourer. They are so poor that they cannot afford to provide food and shelter to her younger sister, Swarupa. Due to starvation, this little girl became so thin and so weak that she often felt sick. Her sickness became an additional burden on her elder sister and brother-in-law. Her survival has become a problem for them. They decided to put her on maid jobs. But her failing health has not given her any success in these odd menial jobs too. A lady in their neighbourhood informed us about the plight of Swarupa. Our PSM volunteers rushed and brought this weak Swarupa to our home duly complying with the due process of law. Within months, under our due care Swarupa soon picked up her health and became very cute again and active.
We provide quality nutritious food to all the children under our care and love. Besides providing food, we conduct games and sports for the children under our care to keep them fit, hale and hearty. We teach them yoga, pranayama, and some warm up exercises so that they stay healthy and wealthy in every sense. Our motto is to provide good health to these children. After all, we at Priyadarshini Seva Mandali believe that health is wealth and wish to provide the same to all the children under our care.

Program Update
We have been taking up support programs on several HIV/AIDS children providing them medical support... right from regular medical check-up to providing prescribed medications on a timely basis. Under this program, we have nearly 30 children getting benefitted in this quarter. Still few more children are added and are also getting medical attention. Besides medical treatment, we also provide basic necessities like quality nutritious food, tidy clothes, and a roof over them. We provide them all the comforts and bare luxuries and giving them all the attention that normal children deserve. This way, we instil confidence in them that they are healthy like any normal child and that their disease is curable. For the next quarter too, we plan to increase the number of HIV/AIDS children giving them all the necessary attention medically, morally and physically
Story from the field
J Kalyan is an orphan. His mother was a victim of HIV/AIDS and died during his childhood. His father left his family and left somewhere and he has no contacts with his family members. Left with no one to take care of him he was orphaned and abandoned. Taking pity on his plight, his grandmother who was in her 70s herself and unable to earn her own square meal took compassion on the child and took him into her custody. For some time, she nursed, tended and supported him. But sadly, as the child used to fall sick often, sometimes severely, it was too much for this grandmother to bear all the medical expenses on him, as she herself was struggling to feed herself. When we heard the story of this child Kalyan, we contacted the grand old lady and after convincing who we are, she gave the child to us to be taken care of. That's how Kalyan has come to live with us. When he came to us, he was so weak and had several health problems. We provided him excellent medical care and attention over a period. We have also provided him good food, clothes and a roof over his head and gave him all the comforts that any normal child could deserve. Today, he is very healthy and enjoying his childhood to the fullest under our Wings of Love.
