Fund the college education of a poor student

Amir finds a helping hand to support him through college

Amir Khan is an 18-year-old intelligent child. His father works as a rickshaw driver. The family has unstable income, and they struggle to make ends meet. His family couldn't afford to send him to college.

Amir wanted to learn a skill and take up a part-time job to pay his college fees. He was good at understanding the work of the mobile hardware. He enrolled in the mobile repairing course.

He picked up the skill very fast and even started teaching his own classmates. He practiced all the skills he learned in class diligently. He realized that he loved to teach students.

When he finished his course, he began looking for a job. Dharma Bharathi Mission found him a position to work as a part-time trainer to teach mobile repairing to students. This way, he could get paid more as well as find time to pursue his college education.

Dharma Bharathi Mission supported him with a scholarship for his balance college fees through their donations.

Now he manages his studies and job very well. He is grateful to DBM for helping him in times of financial crisis.

He is confident that he will work hard and help his family escape the clutches of poverty.

You can also help poor and bright students like Amir get access to higher education that they deserve. You can donate so that they can have opportunities for a better future. You can give with confidence because every program listed is GIVEASSURED.

Program Description

Navasrushti International Trust runs a program to help bright students from poor economic backgrounds finish their graduation.

Donations to this program will contribute to a fund that covers the cost of college fees for students in the program.

Navasrushti identifies children who have completed class 10 with over 80% in their academics. The students identified are from poor economic backgrounds and have no financial support for further education.

The Navasrushti team meets the family of the student and check the income of the family and note the background details. They also discuss the keenness of the student to pursue higher education. The team interacts with the school principal for the academic details of the children. They ensure that the students selected are highly motivated to do well in life.

Once the student gets admission in the college, he is enrolled in the program and the fees support is provided. The fees support provided is paid to the college directly either as a lump sum or in installments.

The students' details are noted in the registers at the center with all family background details too. The DBM Coordinator keeps a track of the academic performance of the children. They also maintain all records of the students who receive higher education sponsorship from DBM.

When you donate to this program, you help bright poor children get access to a good education that can help them with opportunities for a better future.

Navasrushti International Trust (Dharma Bharathi Mission)

Navasrushti International Trust (Dharma Bharathi Mission) was founded to promote national regeneration of India and help to usher in a civilization of love and a culture of peace in the world based on the eternal moral and spiritual values common to all religions.

NIT launched its organised social initiative, Dharma Bharathi Mission (DBM), on 30th January 2008 with the vision to create a better India. Earlier NIT was focused on creating awareness around Responsible Citizenship and the need for every Indian to do his/her bit for the society. However, there was a demand from interested citizens to start social activities where they could meaningfully participate and contribute. Accordingly DBM was launched under NIT to undertake these social and community based initiatives.

Since the goal of NIT was to achieve the remaining three freedoms, economic, social and moral, through a hunger-free, caste-free and corruption free India, DBM took up Hunger-free-India as its first go. They

adopted the 3E approach to tackle the same - education, Employment and Empowerment. All activities and projects are geared towards that goal.

NIT is headed by Mr. Paramjeet Singh. He works in the Indian Revenue Service but being passionate about social service and 'giving', he has offered his honorary services to NIT as its Managing Trustee. His personal motto of - "Give Till it Hurts" has been adopted by NIT(DBM). He is an efficient and inspiring Team Leader under whose able leadership NIT has established itself credibly in the social field.

DBM follows the 3E (Education, Employment & Empowerment) approach to tackle hunger & poverty. Under the education vertical we have a host of programmes to promote the education of needy and underprivileged communities. One of them is the Scholarship Project under which help is given to these slum children especially girls. There is a huge dropout amongst the underprivileged youth after 10th grade. Till 10th they study in vernacular schools which are situated in the slums itself. Then as the time comes to join junior college / college, most of them drop out for a variety of reasons, chief amongst them being, lack of funds. So every year we select some bright students from the slums after 10th and 12th who are keen on pursuing higher education but cannot afford and offer them a scholarship which covers their college fees, and even the cost of books and in some cases even the travel cost so that the family is not burdened by their education.
