NGO visit as a part of India Giving Challenge @ Allscripts
allscripts-sos-visitIndia Giving Challenge is not only an occasion to give back to the society but also for greater employee engagement. One of our corporate partners Allscripts encouraged employees to visit the NGO as a part of the on going India Giving Challenge.

Some employees along with their CSR India mentor Mr. Varadharajan, visited the Pune center to know more about the work done by SOS Children’s Villages. They were briefed about the history and the operations of the organization along with a tour of the facility. They also got a chance to interact with the kids and their mothers.

In words of Reena Mathews, one of the participants, “I visited the village for the first time and I could see happy faces of the children and the mothers who take care of the beautiful children. The warmth of the place is genuine and I could feel it as I am a mother too. There is an order there and also an intent to learn and grow together.”
Bonuses that go to charity can boost job satisfaction
bonuses-to-charityJob satisfaction is at a 20-year low in the U.S., and people are spending more and more time at work. Some researchers say there's a cheap and effective way to boost happiness and productivity.

Rather than award employees bonuses, either as individuals or in teams, employers who give money to their workers to spend on charities or on their colleagues get better results, the researchers reported in the journal PLOS One.

The researchers conducted three experiments. The results across three studies suggest that a minor adjustment to employee bonuses – shifting the focus from the self to others – can create a more altruistic, satisfying and productive workplace.
