It doesn't take a lot to put some thought in your Gift!
The great Indian holiday season is well and truly here. While it is a time to let go and embody the festive spirit, there are many of us who feel the pressure of giving the right gift. The self driven stress is not of making a statement of largesse but to just be thoughtful and make the gift count. Seems simple enough, but anyone who has tried to put some thought behind their gifting, knows just how hard it really is. Unfortunately, this is not just restricted to the happy festive season where at least you have long standing rituals and traditions to fall back on; giving the appropriate gift for birthdays is even a trickier proposition. And even more so in the case of large corporations, where you do want to be employee friendly and make the employees feel loved by personalizing the gift as much as possible. A great sounding thing on paper much, like most marketing briefs but next to impossible to implement. Again like most marketing briefs.

vodafone-wodWe are inundated with birthday mails, flowers, cakes and a small celebration in some cases. But how would it feel if you instead are gifted a donation, something which will make not just a difference to the life of the Birthday Boy/Girl but also to an underprivileged. Well Genpact India has done just that in partnership with us, wherein they strive to make their employees feel special on their birthday by gifting a donation to them. They are donating a mid-day meal for two school going children for a month on behalf of the birthday celebrant.

GiveIndia signs up 1.5 Lac-th Payroll Giver!
Payroll Giving Programme has been in implementation from the year 2004 and now we have 1,57,000+ employees from various organisations who have signed up for the programme.

We celebrated this achievement with our 1.5 lac-th donor Ms. Vaishali Bathla from ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd., Mumbai. Our senior manager Mr. Kalpesh Sangani visited the ICICI Lombard office and presented the certificate of recognition to Ms. Priyam Kaur, Team HR. When asked Ms. Vempati, HR Head, ICICI Lombard about Payroll Giving Programme, she said "The joy of giving is the best feeling that one can have. The “Joy of Giving” has given our employees the perfect platform to fulfil their wish of giving back to the community and making someone’s life better."

vodafone-wodWe also awarded Vaishali with Rs. 10,000/- as matching contribution from GiveIndia as a token of recognition. On asking what prompted her to join the programme, she said, " It is a great learning experience to be part of the programme with GiveIndia. While, I am at the start of my career, I feel privileged to initiate someone’s education, the timing couldn’t be better. It gives meaning to my earning"
Payroll Giving Ambassador of the Month!

This year Coca-Cola launched it's volunteering and giving policy called SWAYAM, and held a series of town-halls and events around the idea of connecting beyond one's boundaries ... and found an ideal partner in GiveIndia. In the very first round of signing up, we had an unprecedented number of people pledging to give and give large sums. Thank you "Give" for this opportunity to celebrate the quiet idealism in each one of us. The Payroll Giving initiative brought out the best in all of us, and helped us become a part of many inspiring stories. You have paved the way to sharing wealth and happiness – and to harmonizing the hum of the spinning wheel with the burr of the computers.
- Neelima Khetan, CSR HEAD, Coca-Cola India
