We had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Ashutosh Telang, Chief Human Resources Officer of Marico. In his 15 years in Marico, Mr. Ashutosh Telang has played an integral part in building strong organisational values. It was fascinating to learn about various platforms provided and initiatives taken to promote giving culture, challenges faced and the future of giving at Marico.

Payroll Giving Touches New Heights
Payroll Giving has now become a popular mechanism to support charity causes of one's choice. GiveIndia, the not-for-profit philanthropy marketplace in its first impact roundtable here today showed that about 1,25,000 donors have contributed directly through debit from their salaries in the last 10 years via the former's fund-raising initiative of Payroll Giving. GiveIndia helps people donate to non-governmental organisations via their platform.

Dhaval Udani, CEO, GiveIndia said that their oldest fund-raising initiative, Payroll Giving completed 10 years of its existence and has raised more than Rs 50 crore since inception and with 125 plus companies and 50,000 active employees. This programme by GiveIndia also had newer corporates who decided to implement this programme for their employees, such as ITC Limited, Cyient Enterprises, Atos India and Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
