SPOTLIGHT: Giving Matters at Tata Capital
amar-sinhji We start the New Year on a high as we showcase giving culture at Tata Capital, part of the iconic Tata Group known for its spirit of Giving back to the community since centuries. We have all heard about the rich philanthropic culture of the Tata Group which is well imbibed in all the Group companies.

This month we had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Amar Sinhji, Head, Human Resources and Corporate Sustainability. Mr. Sinhji has more than 22 years of experience in the industry and is responsible for setting up Human resource function and all the related policies and practices at Tata Capital. It was interesting to know about about various platforms adopted to promote giving culture, challenges faced and the road ahead.
Birds of a Feather Do Flock Together!
mmt-driveAt GiveIndia we take extra care and effort to scrtinize NGOs and ensure transperancy and credibility. All our NGOs go through stringent selection process. We take this religiously.

Recently, two of our donors reported to us that the feedback reports they received from us were identical, when they had made a contribution to support two different beneficiaries (girls). This naturally made them doubt our credibility. When we looked at the reports we realized that the girls studied at the same centre; their fathers' profession was same - both were farmers and their picture were similar too. Had we inadvertently duplicated a report?

Our teams sprang into action immediately. A team member paid a surprise visit to the NGO to investigate the matter the very next day. Guess what he discovered? He found that they were in fact two girls; but had a striking resemblance. By submitting a photograph of the two girls standing side by side, we were able to assure the donor of the veracity of the reports.
