India Giving ChallengeThe Chase Community Foundation, in association with Facebook, is holding a Community Giving challenge for nonprofit organisations.

Facebook participants will select from participating charities and vote for NGOs they believe are in need of support. The charity receiving the most votes will be awarded $1 million; the top five runners-up will receive $100,000 each and the 100 finalists, including the top winners, will be awarded $25,000 each.

So, GiveIndia needs your support. If we win, we will utilse the money to raise more money for our NGOs through an event like the recently-concluded India Giving Challenge.

Independence Day Quiz Winners

Andhra Pradesh Flood ReliefHeld especially for our payroll givers, the GiveIndia Independence Day quiz included a whole bunch of questions about the Payroll Giving programme; and a few about the Joy Of Giving Week.

We had an excellent response with most people getting only one answer wrong. However Benaaz Faridani from WNS, Pune and P. Muralidharan from the Aditya Birla Group managed to get all the answers right. Congratulations to them for winning the quiz. They have won themselves a gift voucher each.

NGO Listing Renewal

Each of f our certified NGOs undergoes a renewal process annually in November. The process, which helps us to verify that NGOs continue to remain accountable and credible, has begun for 212 of our tier I NGOs.

During renewals the 2008-2009 financials and Annual Report are audited. The NGOs also submit facts & figures that will be updated shortly on their pages on the site. 12 NGOs have completed the process so far. Operation Shanti works to directly improve the lives of exploited at-risk, destitute children & the forgotten, suffering elderly, enabling them to share the same gifts of peace, goodwill, and generosity with others.

Legal education & Action for Development Society (LEADS) is educating to liberate the poorest of the poor from oppression, exploitation, social and economical injustice and inequality through strengthening of human rights.

Saathi, Bangalore reates a safe, secure and nurtured environment for runaway children or children separated from their families so that they may grow up with dignity and care.

SERUDS  mitigates the sufferings and hardships of poor people in society by making the poor partners in project activities.

Society of Friends of the Sassoon Hospitals serves the cause of children who are deprived of the basic needs which support child. They work towards social & economic reform in order to support the dignity of every child and individual in society.

Vidya and Child is an effort to help bridge the gap for those who need education and have no access to the facilities for learning existing in our society. Their mission is to develop a creative learning environment for children and help them merge with the mainstream of society.
