AmeriCares India will host the second edition of the ‘Spirit of Humanity Awards’ on April 2nd, 2011 in Mumbai. Organizations doing exemplary work in the healthcare space among the underprivileged in India will be facilitated in 10 different categories. The winning NGO will receive a trophy along with a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000 and a citation autographed by the distinguished Jury. Details on how to apply will follow.

The STARS Impact Awards identify and support local organisations that achieve excellence in the provision of services to disadvantaged children and that demonstrate effective management practices. Listing Renewals- Top 20 NGOs

The Listing Team is very pleased to inform you that we have made a donation of Rs.10000 to each of the NGOs that figured in the list of Top 20 NGOs that completed renewals. This is in recognition and appreciation of the effort that they took to ensure that they completed all formalities well in time. Congratulations to each and every one of them!

India Giving Challenge 2010 Winners

While the India Giving Challenge came to an end on October 20th, the winners were announced post-Diwali, on the 9th of October. In the NGO category, Parivaar Education Society once again topped the charts, raising close to Rs. 50 lacs and winning a matching grant of Rs. 10 lacs for themselves. They were followed by CMCA and Operation ASHA.

The corporate category saw a new winner this year – Genpact – which raised Rs. 28 lacs for their chosen charities, setting a new standard for corporates participating in the coming years. They were followed by Firstsource (Rs. 11.7 lacs) and HDFC Bank (Rs. 4.2 lacs). Paternoster/Jardine Lloyd Thompson were the only company to match their employee contributions and were unlucky to miss out on the top prize by less than Rs. 5,000!
