  1. All tier I and tier II NGOs on GiveIndia are eligible to participate.
  2. Only donations made to NGOs’ iGive pages, created under the event “India Tax Saving Challenge” will be considered. The iGive pages may be set up by NGOs themselves or by their supporters.
  3. Only donations made by donors registered with their Tax Paying Status set to Indian, NRI and Others on the GiveIndia site will be considered.
  4. Donations to an NGO through the following modes of payment on the GiveIndia site will be considered - Credit Card, Netbanking and Cheques (from non-US, non-UK tax payers only).
  5.  Please note that bank transfers will not be allowed.
  6. The challenge begins at midnight of March 3rd, 2010, IST and ends at 11:59pm of March 24th, 2010, IST. All pages  will automatically close for donations at 11:59pm of March 24th, 2010, IST.
  7. Please ensure that all your donations are made well in advance of the end date. Ensure that cheques, if any, are sent to us well before the last date so that they can be credited and the amount reflects in your overall funds collected. Cheques must clear by the 29th of March, at the latest, to be considered - so please do send them in well in advance. Only cheques made against online transactions will be considered. Cheques without corresponding online transactions will not be considered as part of the overall funds raised.
  8.  For determining the winners of the matching grant, only money raised online through iGive pages set up under “India Tax Saving Challenge” from March 3rd – March 24th 2010 will be considered.
  9. We will notify the overall winners by March 31st, 2010. The funds of the India Tax Saving Challenge will be disbursed to the respective NGOs by March 31st. The matching funds will be disbursed latest by May 15th.
  10. Number of unique donors will be counted per NGO.
  11. No feedback report will be provided for any donation made as part of the India Tax Saving Challenge as is the practice for all iGive pages.
  12. GiveIndia will match on a 1:1 basis the money raised by the top NGOs and provide a matching grant for the same (upto a limit). Here are the details:
 
 

Final Prize:

  1. The top 7 NGOs to raise the most funds, between March 3rd – March 24th, 2010, from Indian/NRI/Other donors via Credit Card/Netbanking/Cheques on the GiveIndia site, will receive a matching grant of: 
    NGO 1: 5 lacs 
    NGO 2: 3 lacs 
    NGO 3: 2 lacs
    NGO 4: 1 lac
    NGO 5: 1 lac
    NGO 6: 1 lac
    NGO 7: 1 lac
  2. The top 3 NGOs to raise funds from the most number of unique donors between March 3rd  – March 24th, 2010, Indian/NRI/Other donors via Credit Card/Netbanking/Cheques on the GiveIndia site, will receive a matching grant of: 
    NGO 1: 2 lacs 
    NGO 2: 1 lac
    NGO 3: 50k
