GiveIndia is happy to present to you the third edition of the India Tax-Saving Challenge.

As you may already be aware, March 31st is the deadline for filing tax returns in India. Clearly, a great time to approach your Indian donors for donations. So, to maximize the value of your efforts, GiveIndia is, between Tuesday February 12th and Thursday March 14th, holding a challenge, similar to the India Giving Challenge.

All you need to do is reach out to your networks to raise as many funds as possible through your NGO’s iGive page for the event. With people looking to make tax donations at this time of the year, plus prizes of over Rs.16 lacs to be won, you’ve got two good reasons to reach out.

Of course, we’ll be announcing surprise daily and weekly prizes as the event progresses. So there – three good reasons and many chances of being rewarded for your fundraising efforts!

If your organisation got registered for the India Giving Challenge 2012, it’s even easier to come back on board for the India Tax Saving Challenge. All you need to do is:
(a) Sign this undertaking
(b) Send across a demand draft for Rs. 2,000
(c) Submit an iGive Reimbursement Report ( by filling this template)
No need to submit any further documents!

Individuals:
(a) Make a donation to your favorite NGO and help it win a matching grant. With Rs. 16 lacs to be given out as prizes for donations, the impact of your donation can truly be maximised.

(b) Go a step further - set up an online fundraising page for your preferred NGO and reach out to your networks for support. They’re probably looking to donate for tax benefits anyway.
