Here are four easy ways to get started
- Add a banner with your iGive page link to your company's intranet and website
- Make sure it is visible to all your employees everyday e.g. if they log time in a timesheet or expenses online put up the banner there
- Add the iGive page link to your email signature, chat status, facebook status etc.
Plan a calendar of how you will promote the event. Here’s an example.
Spread the word
Want to create excitement at your office?
- You could have a simple but fun event that can raise funds for your iGive page and get the whole office involved! How about housie at lunch time or an old newspaper drive? We have lots of ideas for events.
- Show your colleagues how their money will help. Invite a speaker from your chosen NGO to come to your office and give a brief presentation about how the money raised will make a difference to the lives of those in need.
- Be sure to send everyone update mails telling them where your company stands in the Challenge, as well as thank you notes to the people who have helped or donated.
- Try and felicitate the highest donors with certificates and other small tokens of appreciation.
- You could also organize a dinner with the CEO of your company for the top donors & key volunteers.
How can you inspire donors to do more?
- Send them this email that they can forward to their friends and family.
- Share real stories through email of how the NGO you support has helped change lives
- Tell them to add the iGive page link to their email signature, chat status, facebook status etc.
Make the most of Social Media
- Get your employees to dedicate a post or 2 on their blogs to the Challenge
- Ask them to use their favorite social networking site (Facebook, Orkut, Twitter) to help spread the word about the Challenge. Check out these sample messages.
- Request them to rally their contacts for support
- Give them regular updates through a blog or a twitter account
