After the worst flooding in decades, India faces a long road to recovery. Hundreds died and more than a million were displaced because of the floods, leaving families without homes, destroying crops, and washing away schoolchildren's uniforms and textbooks:

The floodwaters have receded but flood victims still need a lot of help before they can resume their lives. Here are a few ways that you can make a big impact for under $100:

Give as little $35 to Worldvision. The organization has already provided food and other necessities to 8,000 families and plans to reach 2,500 more.

So far, UNICEF has responded in the worst hit areas: In Kurnool, the response is concentrated on an area covering 24,000 households of around 120,000 people as well as temporary camps for 1,078 families. In Raichur, the UNICEF response is concentrated on 72 relief camps covering 9,000 households of around 45,000 people. Sixty dollarscan provide 20 sheets of tarpaulin, providing simple shelter or ground sheeting for several families.

Equipped with medical material aid Direct Relief International has provided, staff from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) has deployed to Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh States in southern India to provide displaced residents free, state of the art medical care. Any amount of money will help Direct Relief provide free medical services to those who need it.
