This project will provide Integrated service to the street children of Orissa .

Street children represent one of the Worlds largest, most vulnerable population. The United Nation predict that there are currently between 100 and 200 million street children worldwide and that number is growing daily. The street children of Orissa state face multiple risks, that threaten their development and their lives in general. Lack of adequate shelter, nutrition, education, health care and loving care put them at great risk for any number of medical problems, mental illness and social difficulties. The prevalence of drug abuse and unsafe sexual practices among the street children compound these risks. Approximately 90% of the children we meet in the street use drugs on a regular basis. These children also become sexually active at a young age, resulting in high rates of Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STD), unwanted pregnancies and unsafe abortions. Victimization and exploitation are also part of the daily reality of street life.
