Support young childrens nutritional, learning and educational needs - Udaipur, Rajasthan

The project helps 5000 rural tribal children of 140 villages of Udaipur District to learn and play in a safe, secure and healthy environment and prepares them for schooling.

Young children (0-5 years old) in this region are highly malnourished (39.9% underweight) and anemic (69.7%). Parents are often not aware of how to keep their children healthy; lack of resources compound the problem. Since, parents work as labor or work in farms, their little children are often left unattended in inappropriate circumstances (e.g. by the work-site or alone in households with older siblings), which results into their poor health & hygiene. Also, the children dont have access to many important inputs for social, cognitive and physical development. In other words these children are deprived of essential early childhood care.
