PRAGATI: Educating Institutionalised Children - Mumbai, Maharashtra

The project will benefit approximately 1000 children of Mumbai observation/childrens homes. The project covers six observation/childrens homes in Chembur, Mankhurd and Dongri, delivering supplementary education to 560 children, tracking/follow up of 360 discharged children and computer education to 80 children.

Children in Mumbai observation/childrens homes are one of the most marginalized child populations in Mumbai. Institutionalised, these childrens only means of survival is the foundation of quality education.The dire need therefore, is assistance in their education, bolstering survival skills and personal follow up upon their discharge to ensure they continue in school.
