This project will provide an alternate home to 50 children from vulnerable situations such as: broken homes, domestic violence, children of sex workers, children of migrant workers, children of parents with HIV and AIDS, victims of child abuse and other forms of shelterlesness that warrants alternate home care for children in the age group of 3-14. These children belong to Tirupur in Tamilnadu
Home is the social institution for protection, care and nurturing of the child. In cases where the home is one of disharmony and disruption, the basic protection, care and nurturing for the child is absent. Children who are deprived of home care are denied the rights of childhood prescribed in the UN convention on the rights of the child. The child is denied the right for childhood (laugh, play and be happy), entitlement of health, life education (experiential learning, value orientation, habit formation, socialization), academic learning and constitutional entitlement of the child as a equity member of the society
