| Bringing Rekha into mainstream society |
 | At the age of 4, Rekha was left orphaned-by a father who was taken to prison for life for the murder of her mother, who he beat to death in a drunken stupor. Rekha, the only witness to the ugly sight was left traumatised. |
| SSM adopted Rekha, admitted her in our residential hostel and the school run by SSM & provided all educational and residential facilities till Grade 12. We also provided her an opportunity in pursuing higher education later. This is no fairy tale – it is true and it has a happy ending. | Rekha has successfully completed her education up to Grade 12. She is intelligent, friendly and most importantly has tided over her loss and coped admirably with her situation. SSM supported her for nursing course at Pune. Now Rekha is no longer shy, withdrawn and sad. She is social, loving and very bright. |

| The Rising Sun of Sagroli Sunrise Sports Project |
 | Chitgire Rameshwar Govindrao is well known in the sports world of Maharashtra for the past 3 years. When he takes part in a long distance run, one top spot is his for sure. His performance at the cross country runs and marathon brought a rare acclaim to the Sagroli Sunrise Project. But the other side of his life has not been so exciting. |
| As a child he was brought to SSM run Anand Balgram (SOS Childrens Village) Neither of his parents ever visited to see how their child was doing. He grew up almost like an orphan. Of course the care and affection shown in the campus never let him feel so. As the first enrolled boy of the Sagroli Sunrise Project, he has always upheld the banner.

| He has out performed professionals at Delhi and Mumbai Marathon. He has won the 1st place for three consecutive years at the Shankarrao Chavan Memorial Marathon. The entire district feels proud of him. We received Real Heroes CNN IBN Award for outstanding contribution in sports. The strength and commitment of the rural youth is far more competitive compared to the urban counterparts. They could bring laurels to the nation in sports if whatever they need to hit the target is provided. |
