Success Story

Nanku is 5 years old but looks a boy of two by his physical appearance. Nanku is 5 years old but looks a boy of two by his physical appearance. He is victim of severe malnutrition and was not even able to sit properly. His parent are poor and not in a position to take him to the city for treatment. So he was left to his fate and was counting his days.

NEEDS team member found Nanku and sent an ambulance bring Nanku to Sadar hospital but his parents felt it was not necessary.Our team member had a long talk with the parent explaining the consequences if the boy was not admitted to hospital. Finally he was brought for a check up. Supplementary feeding along with medicines was provided to the boy.

Nanku is still is weak but can stand on his feet. He is able to manage a smile. Nanku is gaining weight day by day. Our team members are getting regular feedback. His parents are also counseled on his care and feeding which they are doing. The experience helped them to take care of their other child who was also a border line case.
