Success Story

Sitamuni Tudu is an illiterate lady from Santhal tribes. Sitamuni Tudu is an illiterate lady from Santhal tribes. Her illiteracy did not keep her bonded within home. When a woman SHG was formed in her village, she was the first to join. A regular in the group meetings, she was elected as an office bearer. She became aware of SHG functions and ventured out to start a business of her own, poultry being her natural choice.

NEEDS came to know about her interest and arranged her training of one month on Poultry Rearing by NABARD. Training on poultry rearing, feeding pattern, medicine and treatment was given to her. She became expert on poultry and people from her village take her advice very often. She was helped to start her poultry farm with 100 chicks

The capacity of her poultry has now increased to 300.She has bank linkages. She regularly repays her bank on time and her income from one cycle is presently Rs.1500/ after repayment. Whole sellers come to her doorstep to buy birds. She is now venturing into horticulture and planted mango plants on her land
