Success Story

The situation in the villages under Mandir Bazar Block was deplorable. The situation in the villages under Mandir Bazar Block was deplorable. The health status was grim. Most of the villagers suffered from water borne diseases, children suffered from worms, and women suffered from anemia and indigestion. They consulted quacks. It did more harm than good.

VSS took the initiative to organize periodic health camps at the villages. Registered Medical Practitioner having a MBBS Degree clinically examined the patients and gave medicines. He also counseled the mothers regarding, personal hygiene, low cost nutrition, breast-feeding to new born babies, family spacing and about preventive measures to avoid common diseases.

Health Camp has helped the villagers to understand the efficacy of preventive measures. They are now practicing those measures. This has led to the decrease of, water borne diseases, mal- nutrition of children, anemia that bothered women, worms that affected children and they have realized that healthy body is a must for a healthy mind.
