They had no option but to toil day in and day out to keep their male counter parts in good humour. Wife beating & discrimination against girl child was a common feature. The scenario was really grim.

VSS organized SHG leaders training. The training explained the process of group dynamics. The training explained to the leaders that the strength and sustenance of the group depended on their proper leadership. The leaders ought to be receptive, patient, a role model to the members. The leaders should provide guidance to the members in conflict situation.

The scenario in the villages is slowly but steadily changing. Unity of the women has shown the way to fight against all injustices. The SHGs have initiated group savings to see them through in rainy days. The SHGs have opened account at the local Bank. They are now negotiating with the Bank for loan to organize income generation activities.
