Sonali is 6 years old. Sonali is 6 years old. She has two elder brothers. Her father sells vegetables in the market to eke out a living. Sonali helped her mother at home. Their income is meager. Her parents concentrate on two male children to the neglect of Sonali. She was not sent to school. She hardly gets sufficient food at home

VSS learnt about Sonali when she was rushed to the Health Centre owing to dehydration.At insistence of the social worker Sonali was admitted to class I at the local Primary School. VSS has assisted her parents to pay school admission and tuition fees and buy books, school dress and school shoes and socks. At the school she gets mid-day meal.

Sonali is now very happy because like her elder brothers she is now going to school. Her parents no longer neglect her in terms of food. She is gradually recovering from malnutrition. She is now quite active and agile.
