Karthik Selvamani was roaming on the streets of Bangalore picking up paper, rags and anything else that would help him to feed himself and his ailing mother. His father had abandoned them a long time ago and little Karthik had to fend for himself and his mother.

Parikrma picked him up from the streets and admitted him to a shelter. From the lawlessness of the streets to the loving world of friends and teachers, Karthiks life has changed. to a world that cares for him, taught him to live with dignity, and encourages him to live out his dream - the dream of going to school.

He gets 3 meals a day at school with a Protein supplement in the evening and is a very active theatre person and also good in academics.In class 10th and going to write his board exams. He is steadily working towards realizing his dream - of becoming an oncologist - to ensure that nobody else will die of cancer as his mother did, two years ago.
