Success Story

Two year old Gayathri was brought to DESIRE society by a group of young people from a community near Zaheerabad. Two year old Gayathri was brought to DESIRE society by a group of young people from a community near Zaheerabad. The baby had lost her parents due to AIDS. She was thus tested for HIV. Gayathri was detected HIV positive.

Based on Gayathris CD4 count, she had to go for ART (antiretroviral treatment) to extend the life span and sustain the immunity. All the test were conducted free of cost by DESIRE Society.

Gayathri is able to access ART regularly and she is under round the clock observation by medical team. She has gained weight, takes proper nutrition, and is able to walk with assistance. Had she not arrived at DESIRE Society, this change would not have been possible.
