Success Story

Hans Kaur is a 40 year old woman who was detected with AIDS 4 years ago. Hans Kaur is a 40 year old woman who was detected with AIDS 4 years ago. Her husband who was a daily wage labourer was also positive. Fortunately he was not facing any health problem. He could make Rs.300 a day and his family of 6 could survive. Hans Kaur was put on ART. At the same time her husbands vegetable merchant died and he had no work. Thus he had no money and Hans started losing weight.

The doctor at Child Survival India clinic noted it and asked the HIV care worker to provide food assistance to the family. The Care worker provided groceries to the family & also started giving weekly money for vegetables and milk etc. to tide away the hardship of family.

Hans Kaur has gained weight, her CD4 count has again gone up and she is having fewer episodes of opportunistic infections. The best part is the hope & smiles on the face of her eldest daughter, Soni who had become very scared on seeing her mothers deteriorating health.
