Success Story

Children in a remote village in Tamilnadu do not go to school like their urban peer do. Children in a remote village in Tamilnadu do not go to school like their urban peer do. They are bonded labourers in a brick kiln. Parents are apathetic- they have no choice else they will all go hungry. Those that are orphaned or destitute are worse off.

Sevalaya started a childrens Home and a school in this village, created awareness among parents and provided free food and shelter for destitute and orphan children. They were offered free education , educational aids and uniforms.

About 1000 children now study in the school. The sight of the children smartly dressed in uniforms and marching to school with a smile on their faces and self-confidence, is the change Sevalaya has brought about. No longer are they slaves to bonded labour. Their life has hope.
