The teacher and the taught
Private and government schools charge money for the childrens education to pay salaries of the teachers. When a family does not have enough money, the children do not attend school and classes. Many such children in the slum areas of the city were not attending classes for this reason.
CAF took up the sponsorship of salaries for eight teachers of the upper-primary school.
Sponsoring the schoool teachers substantially reduces the amount a child/parent needs to spend on education. Consequently, many more parents were able to send their children to school and many more children are attending school and classes on a regular, daily basis.
