Overview

From the very beginning, the members of SAPNA believe that development has to be holistic to break the vicious cycle of poverty to bring the real fruits to the needy. They wish to bring about visible change on the ground by focusing their energies in these sectors as well as building their understanding about related issues. The members of SAPNA firmly believe that a conducive and productive environment cannot be achieved unless all parameters of the development equation are adequately addressed.

How It Works

• The rural youth of Alwar have little or no exposure to e-learning.
• Many of them have not seen computers and the schools in the rural areas provide no such learning.
• Any desire for e-learning means going to the commercial centres in Alwar which may be beyond their means.
• The Computer Literacy Centre (CLC) trains the youth in IT skills at a nominal cost.
• It has a well-equipped computer lab and trainers.
• The CLC offers RS-CIT Course (Rajasthan State Certificate Course in Information Technology) certified by Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota.
• MS Office, Photoshop, HTML, Internet, Hardware & Networking, DBMS, etc. are part of the curriculum.
• The Centre has successfully trained several rural youth with ICT skills and has remarkably enhanced e-learning and usage.
• Many are now well versed in data entry work.
• Presently the CLC is digitising data for India Post in Alwar district.
• Besides providing meaningful employment at their doorsteps, a sense of engagement and achievement too, has gripped the rural youth of Alwar.

E-learning at the door step
The rural youth have little or no exposure to e-learning; leave aside the challenges of training the youth in ICT skills and giving them meaningful employment opportunities. Many of them have not seen computers and the schools in the rural areas provide no such learning. Any desire for e-learning means going to Alwar which may be beyond their means.
The CLC trains the youth with ICT skills. It has a well equipped computer lab and teachers. MS office, Photoshop, Corel Draw, Tally, Html, Internet, etc are part of 4 month curriculum. It has remarkably increased e-learning and usage amongst the rural children. The children are also taught English and typing skills. To provide them meaningful employment opportunities a rural BPO was established.
SAPNA trained more than 300 rural youths with ICT skills, now well versed in data entry work. 14,000 sheets of data entry in English outsourced by Punj Llyod Ltd. were promptly completed. Presently they are maintaining data for NREGA at the Alwar Post Office. Besides providing meaningful employment at their doorsteps, a sense of engagement and achievement too, has gripped the rural youth of Alwar.
