The Visually Impaired children also can do their best if provided with proper care, counselling and aids. Chetan, a Visually Impaired child of 15 years studying in 10th standard at Jetpur, is one such example. He was unable to cope with his studies because of lack of proper guidance and special aids and appliances, though his parents had admitted him to school.

After joining the IEDC scheme, he was given help by a special teacher and a Braille kit for his personal use. He was taught Braille reading-writing and mobility and orientation training. Now he uses Braille text book and a tape recorder for his preparation for the S.S.C. examination.

The organization has provided him recorded material and tape recorder for his study and he is continuously given guidance and counselling for his better performance at the S.S.C. public examination. We are quite optimistic about Chetan?s progress and achievement in the forth coming S.S.C. examination.
