Overview

Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA) has been committed to integrate physically and mentally challenged service users, by empowering them to have equal participation to the society. ASSA caters to several disabled persons in various villages.

How It Works

• Amar Seva Sangam has a manufacturing unit which specializes in making calipers customized for the differently-abled.
As opposed to the traditional aluminum calipers which are heavy, the customized calipers made by the unit are lightweight and easy to use.
• The Unit also deals with repair of PVC calipers and supply of specific orders depending on need of the user.
• The unit houses highly experienced staff who ensure orders get delivered in time.

Statistics

• 14,000 – Number of differently abled people that ASS caters to
• 800 – Number of villages that ASS covers

Successful Achievement
Ayishal Beevi lost the use of both her legs when she got affected by Polio as a child. Unable to walk, she could move only by crawling, and required constant parental support. Being the sole bread winner of the family, her laborer father could hardly afford to provide her with the resources she needed. With no other option, they approached Amar Seva Sangam for help, where they were screened and selected by the Rehabilitation Team.
At Amar Seva Sangam, Ayishal was given regular physiotherapy. Calipers and crutches were given to her as per the dimension recommended by the therapist. She practiced walking for the first time with the help of calipers and crutches as directed by the therapists.
Now Ayishal has completed her graduation in B.com, and post graduation in MBA from a regular college and she is doing her M.Com in Distance Education. She is now so so confident, that she is able to travel independently by bus or train to anywhere she wants. She now wants to pursue her dreams by completing M.Phil and Ph.D.
