Success Story

A Visually Impaired (V.I) child Dharmendra Rathod was a weak student

A Visually Impaired (V.I) child Dharmendra Rathod, 11 year old boy, studying in 6th grade at Bright Capital Primary School of Dhoraji Block of Gujarat state, was a very weak student. Without special care and special aids in teaching he was unable to cope with his studies in his regular classes

Our teacher teaching visually impaired children approached Dharmendra and his parents and counselled them to get Dharmendra admitted in the IEDC scheme. Thereafter the V.I. child was given special aids and appliances for reading and writing Braille including Braille Typewriter. He can write in Braille smoothly and speedily his notes in the classroom. He can also prepare notes, assignments and other documents in the Braille easily through Typewriter. The teacher taught him Braille reading-writing and counselled his regular teacher to take care of his special needs
Now Dharmendra is able to read and write Braille and he is able to grasp whatever is taught in the classroom. He has his own text book in Braille and he doesn t have to depend on others for reading. With special mathematical aids, he is now able to do sums in classroom as well as home. He is a brilliant student and we are quite optimistic about his bright future
