Success Story

NULL Due to the inability of the mentally ill father to earn a regular income, there is an abrupt end to the education of several bright children.. In most of the cases it is the mother who shoulders the responsibility. Education is not given preference under such circumstances, forcing the child to discontinue studies. This programme supports a maximum of two children per family from LKG to +2 level.

The Psychiatric Social Worker first makes a study of the family circumstances before recommending assistance. The assistance is in the form of reimbursements for expenditures towards school fee, text and note books, and uniform and shoe. Each child is entitled to receive upto Rs.3,000/- per academic year.

Since 1988, hundreds of bright children have completed high school level , some of them toppers. This was made possible by this welfare measure initiated by SCARF.
