A runaway child
Mohan seems to have originated from Goa and also born and brought up here. Mohan was referred to the GMC, Government hospital in Panjim due to a head injury after falling from a height. His relatives (as mentioned on his Discharge summary) abandoned him after admitting him at the hospital. Mohan was unconscious at the time of admission and hence could not figure out when his relatives had left and gone
Mohan now feels safe and happy. He is an intelligent and sensitive child who enjoys playing different games with his friends in Victory House. Mohan is currently studying in Shanti Niketan (non formal) school. He is a sweet, friendly and a fun-loving boy who is enjoying his new surrounds. He needs continuous love and care. This can be achieved through sponsorship and guidance which will help him achieve his goals to grow and develop as a normal child.
Mohan received a complete treatment for his head and brain injuries at the hospital and his wounds were healed. As his relatives could not be traced, he was hence referred to SCAN-India (a project of El Shaddai) for further welfare. After inquiring, it was known that Mohan had around four more siblings and he had lost his mother. The family seemed to be very poor and his Father most probably, the sole earner was struggling to look after his children. Mohan was soon brought to us and was quickly admitted into our residential home. He was welcomed into a loving home which offered him comfort, companionship, nourishing food, education and the possibility of a secure future.
