Akhil Babu, is a 10-year-old child having Spastic Cerebral Palsy of Diplegic variety Akhil Babu, is a 10-year-old child having Spastic Cerebral Palsy of Diplegic variety. As a baby, all his developmental milestones were delayed. From the beginning itself he had problems with learning and poor socialization skills. He had a difficulty in using hands and movements were limited to crawling

Akhil joined Adarsh at the age of 6 years. He used to attend school till 3 pm everyday. His stint at Adarsh showed improvement in his ability to communicate with others and academic standards. There was tremendous increase in his physical abilities as well. Over a period of four years, he was made capable of standing on his own and also started walking with the aid of a crutches

Akhil left Adarsh at the end of 2003. Now, he is in seventh grade in a mainstream school close to his home. He walks to school everyday, eager for his classes and happy at the thought of making new friends, thus opening up a whole new world of possibilities for him
