Catalyst for Social Action (CSA) works with government destitute homes/orphanages in Pune and Orissa. Their objective is to bring about overall improvement in terms of child care, health and living standards, and educational standards.

How It Works

• Support is offered to the children through educational institutions, where their needs are identified and formal education is imparted to them.
• Many of the children, particularly those in grades 7 to12 need back up support in the form of tuitions/coaching classes.
• The child could either be sent to a coaching class or could take private tuitions, where the instructor would be paid by CSA.
• In addition, the children require resources such as books, notebooks, guides, etc. All these items fall under the category of ‘supplementary education and educational stationeries.’

Sujit becomes a contributing member of society!
Sujit was only 3 yrs. old when his father died; then when he was 12, his mother too passed away. Sujit reached the orphanage. (District probation and after care association Boys Observation home Shivaji Nagar Pune, Maharashtra). He was so shattered he refused to participate in any activity. He had lost interest in his studies too.
CSA got Sujit registered into Grade 8 at the coaching class supported by us in the orphanage premises. He gradually started performing well in the academics. In due course CSA sponsored Sujit to a programme in Computer Applications
