Sponsor a midday meal for 30-35 old, destitute or disabled people living on the street, INR 1500

Priyadarshini Seva Mandali (PSM), a Non Government Voluntary Organization, commenced its journey on 27th April, 1991 with the aim of providing a platform for the underprivileged ones. The NGO is currently working with the grassroot level of the society in order to bring them back in the mainstream of life. The organization is focused on facilitating community organization and women empowerment that leads to sustainable development of the society. PSM runs a midday meal programme and has put up a board outside offering free food.

How It Works

• Other NGOs in Khammam are also informed so that they can refer aged citizens in the area to PSM, in addition to the ones the NGO finds.
• These people are destitute, beggars or disabled people thrown out on the streets by their families.
• The same group of people come everyday for meals.
• Some bring boxes to take home food for dinner as well.
• The meal is cooked and served at the centre.
• All people who come cannot be fed and there is a limit on the maximum number of people that can be fed through this programme.

• 12-2 p.m. – Time during which food is served at the centre
• 35 – Number of people who are fed with the help of donations from Give India
• 50 – Maximum number of people who can be fed under this programme

A meal for destitute old persons
Balamma, aged 60, is from Khammam, Andhra Pradesh. She had no family. She survived by begging, her heart heavy with bitter grief and distress. she is staying alone in a single room in Saradhi Nagar, Khammam
Priyadarshini Seva Mandali happened to find the feeble old lady begging in the streets and led her to the shelter of the organization for the aged. Since then we are providing her daily mid-day meal and extending her moral support. We provide nutritious mid day meals (rice, Pickle, curry, sambar and curd) at our organization every day from 12:00 Noon to 02:00 PM.
Now, the old woman has at least a single meal per day to appease her hunger. Her physical condition has also become better.
