Success Story

Mr Raman (name changed) aged about 42 years is infected by HIV/AIDS since 5 years Mr Raman (name changed) aged about 42 years is infected by HIV/AIDS since 5 years and received medicines from Government hospital for TB & he was also on ART. Due to his low body strength he did not take both drugs at the same time. When he took the medicine he got severe head ache and stomach pain. As a result he used to take only one medicine. This prolonged his illness and he could not recoup his health.

We supported Mr.X by providing nutritious food through locally based available food, home based additional food and counseling his mother. Now she gives him Ragi porridge every day as Ragi gives basic strength and power to the nervous system)

Before we implement our action plan, Mr.X used to take just one medicine for fear of loss of physical strength and stamina. After we were involved, Mr. X was supported by continuous counseling and emotional supports by our Out Reach Worker (ORW) and now he is ready to take both medicines needed to cope with his health status and also has additional food intake. He is under medication (necessary drugs) and has a medical check-up card at Melur GH. Our Outreach worker has supported him through home visits periodically.
