Success Story

The children of Devdasis in Parbhani are usually deprived of quality education and learning. The children of Devdasis in Parbhani are usually deprived of quality education and learning. Many of them even fail to attend even a day in a formal. Besides, there is a huge lack of academic orientation among them.

SAAD came in touch with a woman called Jamunabai, who was sacrificed to the Gods by her parents at the time of her birth. She loitered for years together from place to place and ultimately realised the importance of giving a proper orientation to their coming generation.She was helped to start a Balwadi for the children of the Devdasis in Parbhani.

Today, Jamunabai is happy to have given up her nomadic life. She is proud to be asociated with SAAD and other such organisations for the contribution they have made towards the upliftment of the Devdasi community.
