Success Story

Prachi, a 7 year old lovely little girl is now living with her mother since her parents have decided to live their lives separately. Prachi, a 7 year old lovely little girl is now living with her mother since her parents have decided to live their lives separately. She is in the care of her maternal grandparents. Her mother Maya is a quilter in our Stree Shakti Division where she earns about Rs. 1500 per month at the present time. They are surviving in very poor conditions and it is a daily crisis situation since all 7 family members live on the income of Maya and an old grandfather who is a labour. It is hard for the family to get even two proper meals a day. Prachi, her maternal grandparents, mother, aunty and 2 uncles live in a single kuccha room. They do not have any LPG connection and cook food outside under a temporary tin shed using wood fire.

Prachi joined our Programme in March 2011 and since then has been eating a balanced diet. With this diet and proper medical attention she is already beginning to grow up into a healthy girl full of life and a future. She takes good interest in her learning.

Prachi comes to us from the Government Primary School at Galjwadi. She performed well in her evaluations at our School and came out as a very well balanced bright child. We have admitted her into Class 2 in April 2011 and she is currently undergoing remedial classes to help her accommodate into Class 2 in April this year.
