Success Story

Purnima Das, 45 years old, stayed with her husband at village Thinagar, P.O.Pakuahat, Dist: Malda. Purnima Das, 45 years old, stayed with her husband at village Thinagar, P.O.Pakuahat, Dist: Malda. Her husband worked as a day labour as and when he got the work. The family members were four. So it was very difficult to maintain her family and to continue education for her elder son Biswajit smoothly. Purnima wanted to do something for her family.

The programme covered topics on SHG formation, maintain acecounts, register, details of loan application and repayment, bank linkages, conducting meetings and communication with members. Our social Worker assisted Purnima to be a member of Sandhyamani Mahila Samity in August 2010. She took loan of Rs. 2000 in October 2010 and started selling snacks for Jhilmil School Students at Thinagar, Pakuahat, Malda from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Now, Purnima is happy. She earns Rs. 40 per day for selling snacks. From her earnings she is re-paying the loan with interest at Rs. 50 per week and maintains her family smoothly.
