Success Story

The lady was married fifteen years ago and had suffered physical and mental torture by husband. The lady was married fifteen years ago and had suffered physical and mental torture by husband. Her husband deserted her and her two children (a fourteen year old daughter and a ten year old son), eight years ago, and is untraceable till date. He is absconding. She has been provided a room to live at her current place of employment, where she prepares around 1000 rotis per day in two batches. She approached the police department to trace her husband, but to no avail. So she now wishes to apply for a divorce.

Our organisation provided financial support for her legal charges and educational support for her children. Our social worker helped her obtain her marriage registration certificate, file the application with the Police Department to trace her husband, get medical aid for her daughter who met with an accident. She was counselled, and encouraged to continue living her life with dignity, despite her misfortune.

She is living her life in a dignified way, and taking care of her two children on her own. Her children are able to continue their education, and also pursue their hobbies with the support from Swadhar.
