Overview

Ritham Special School was started in 2004 to cater to the needs of special children in and around Rajapalayam, Tamilnadu.

How It Works

• Irregular intake of medication leads to seizures.
• In fact, Ritham has seen students collapse during school hours often enough.
• On speaking to parents about the incident, they learnt that parents were not able to buy the necessary medicine due to its high cost.
• As it is a medicine to be taken continuously, Ritham decided to sponsor the same for such families.
• Students who require this medicine are listed according to their parents' income.
• A copy of their prescription is also noted and stored with Ritham.

Drugs for epilepsy affected CP & MR students
Our student, I.Muniaraj, aged 16 years, has frequent fits. He takes the anti-epileptic drugs irregularly. Due to this he gets frequent fits.
Basically fits affected person requires regular in-taking of anti-epileptic drugs. Failing which leads to severe impact in memory loss. We have initiated these drugs program earlier and supplied drugs freely but due to discontinuation of donors for medicine programme we were forced to stop this program.
We would like to restart this program to reduce the parent’s burden and let the students come to the school regularly.
