Mahesh is 7 yrs old, affected by Cerebral Palsy. Mahesh is 7 yrs old, affected by Cerebral Palsy. When he came to join our school 2 yrs back he was extremely weak and under-nourished. He could hardly move his limbs. His skin was pale. His digestive system was weak due to malnutrition. His parents are poor and cannot afford to give him adequate food or a balanced meal.

Mahesh was admitted to our school and was put under midday meal programme. Initially he made a fuss to eat or could not eat adequately and our teachers had to regularly feed him. As he was fed he was told the names of different vegetables and benefits of each vegetable to the human body. He was also given supplementary food in the morning like porridge, sprouts, fruits and salad. Gradually his intake increased and digestive ability recovered.

Mahesh is now a fairly healthy boy. He eats on his own and also enjoys eating with his batch mates. He relishes his food, his face glows when he eats his favorite dishes. His physical strength has improved considerably and he is able to walk for quite sometime with help of calipers and rolator. This is great achievement for a boy who could hardly move on his bed. From a fragile, weak child Mahesh has transformed into a lively and active boy. With improvement in health he can focus on his studies.
