Success Story

Akash is a physically challenged boy of 12 years who moves around in wheel chair with much difficulty. Akash is a physically challenged boy of 12 years who moves around in wheel chair with much difficulty. His father is a labourer who has to support a family of six. They could not pay special attention to Akash. He was never admitted to school.

NEEDS education guides identified Akash during a survey of drop outs and never been to school children around a commercial area in Deoghar. When a bridge course centre for these children was opened, Akash was enrolled. His friends helped him to come to the centre and also to have basic education through different TLMs. He is a slow learner so the Guide gave special attention to the boy.

Akash started to come regularly to the centre moving his wheelchair and enjoyed his time. He loves singing and takes interest in solving maths. His friends also accepted him and helped him in many ways. He was provided with education materials and drawing kits. NEEDS also helped him to repair his wheelchair. Akash is a happy boy now.
