Success Story

Aishwarya, was brought to Shreevatsa as a relinquished child in Dec-98 when she was 3 days old. Aishwarya, was brought to Shreevatsa as a relinquished child in Dec-98 when she was 3 days old. In medical investigation she was diagnosed with Ogushi disease with bilateral optic atrophy and hypoplastic retinae, which leads to very poor vision and fixation. She is also suffering from microcephaly and delayed development with mild mental retardation. Hence Aishwarya is transferred to special center TARA.

At TARA, special attention was given by TARA staff as well as volunteers to make her independent in her daily routine life. These included various therapies like, speech therapy, body massage, investigation and treatments for improving her vision and body movements. She is also enrolled in a school for special children. Good Nutritional support at TARA helps every child to respond positively to all the treatments.

Aishwarya is a living example of how a human responds to love and affection. With all therapies and special attention now she can speak clearly, be independent to do her routine work. She is progressing well in her studies too. She was awarded as best student in 06-07 and topped in her class in 09-10. She is now Didi (Elder sister) of every child at TARA as she loves to take care of them and help to make them independent like her.
