Success Story

Krishna is just 3 years old, HIV positive and on ART. Krishna is just 3 years old, HIV positive and on ART. This child was identified by Staff of CSR, one year back, when she was in a very critical condition, affected with fever, diarrhoea and loosing weight. The child was fine and healthy until she turned two years of age. She started loosing weight on initiating ART. At present the child is completely blind and was found that the nerves of sight for both her eyes are cut so she cannot see for the rest of her life. The child had a very low CD4 count of only 90. CSR provided her supplementary nutrition and emergency medical support.

Presently mother and Krishna is separated and living with maternal grandmother. Family is dependent on grandmother who does fish retail business. She herself is not keeping good health and suffering from diabetes.

Family is been provided grocery regularly and also supported for travel to access ART. They were also given a hot box and idli cooker as household support. Currently her CD4 count is 890 and keeping good health. She has appetite and consumes food properly and follows a routine.
