Success Story

Mariya Kapadiya aged 32 years is a lady who suffers from visual impairment. Mariya Kapadiya aged 32 years is a lady who suffers from visual impairment. She completed her school studies long back in the year 1990 and then tried for a job but could’nt get one in Dahod which is her home town. After that she did a short term course on telephone operating and kept on searching for a job. She used to do all the house work and help her family members.

BWC was in touch with her and we informed her about the Computer operator course specially for people with visual impairment and loco motor disablities that had started in the year 2008. This course is recognised by Government of Gujarat ( Gujarat council for vocational training – GCVT) We enrolled her in this course in the same year for the first batch itself.

With the help of the JAWS ( Job access with speech) software she was able to learn the computer operation easily, with the help of Braille she could learn theory and Practical with Jaws and CD she successfully completed this course with 81 % marks. For the next batch in the year 2009 she was appointed as Computer Instructor in the same training programme and is doing her job successfully. Being a person with visual impairment she can teach the students with visual impairment in a better way.
