Success Story

Thallada Adamma is a 70 years old helpless person Thallada Adamma is a 70 years old helpless person. She lives in Rellivalasa village of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh. Her husband was a sweeper, died 20 years ago. She has lived as an UNTOUCHABLE all her life. She has no children. When her husband died she took up the job. Now she is old and lives by begging. She has no hut and lives outside the village with a migrant family. She does not have ration card or pension

ARDAR adopted the village and conducted a household survey identifiying 51 old people who are extremely poor and do not have any family. Many e are not even in a position to cook for themselves. ARDAR opened Sitharam Day Care Centre for old age persons. The doctor visits the old age centre twice weekly and provides free treatment and medicines. All the woman receive monthly food rations

Adamma is now under care and support of our Medical Officer. She is able to take care of herself. She stopped begging as she gets monthly ration. She is happy and now has the total security for food. It increases her pride and happiness during the last days of her life.
