Aravind is 19 years old living in Thiruvika Nagar, Chennai with his parents. Aravind is 19 years old living in Thiruvika Nagar, Chennai with his parents. He discontinued his studies in 11th grade due to onset of illness. He started getting seizures from 2004 and was under treatment. But in 2007, as he entered 12th grade suddenly started manifesting symptoms like school refusal, reduced in take of food, withdrawal, neglected self care, muttering to self making hand gestures

He was brought by his father to SCARF & was admitted into our residential centre at Anna Nagar. Since he could not cope with his studies he discontinued & started working in a electrical shop. He has had a couple of relapses and was in and out of our center. Currently under treatment as in-patient.

With proper medication, the patient recovers swiftly. During the post recovery period, active training in various vocational skills is imparted. This along with counselling will help him return to the main stream life.
