Success Story

Sanjay and his family had migrated to Delhi from his native village in Uttar Pradesh Sanjay and his family had migrated to Delhi from his native village in Uttar Pradesh in search of a better life. Leaving their village and ancestral land behind and with dreams of earning better money they had come to the Capital city. They were forced to settle in a shanty in the crowded area of Rewari line slum basti along with thousands of persons like them with no basic amenities and a proper shelter. Sanjay grew up in the slums and got into bad habits and a high risk behavior too much to the displeasure of his father.

His father who is a barber and runs a saloon in the area came to know about these workshops when the field workers made a survey of the area and requested for help by talking to their son. DISHA invited Sanjay in the workshop which was organized in the area.

After the workshop which came to be his only way of knowing about reproductive health issues he overcame his shyness and had clarified his doubts and Sanjay resolved to be a responsible young man. There was a huge change in his attitude and behavior.
